Managing Notification Settings
Configure how your center communicates with staff and families. Control notification channels, frequency, and which events trigger alerts.

1. Notification Types
Bloomily sends various notifications to keep everyone informed:
Check-in and check-out notifications for parents.
Notifications when daily activity reports are published.
Center-wide messages and updates.
Upcoming events and RSVP requests.
Invoice notifications and payment confirmations.
2. Staff Notifications
Configure what notifications staff members receive:
When a parent reports their child will be absent.
When a child hasn't been picked up by closing time.
New applications, tour requests, and enrollment updates.
Important system notifications for admins.
Tip: Different staff roles may need different notifications. Administrators typically receive more notifications than regular staff members.
3. Parent Notifications
Parents automatically receive notifications for important events related to their children. As an admin, you can configure organization-wide defaults:
Real-time notifications when their child arrives or leaves.
Notification when the day's report is ready.
When new invoices are generated or payment is due.
Parents can customize their own notification preferences in their portal settings, but your organization-wide settings determine what's available.
4. Delivery Channels
Notifications can be delivered through multiple channels:
Instant alerts to the Bloomily mobile app. Best for time-sensitive information.
Detailed notifications for items that need more context.
Urgent notifications when email or push isn't enough. Requires SMS setup.
Setting Up SMS
To enable SMS notifications:
- Go to Settings → SMS
- Configure your SMS provider (Twilio)
- Test the connection
- Enable SMS for specific notification types
5. Organization Settings
Configure organization-wide notification preferences:
The email address notifications are sent from. Set in Organization settings.
Optional - prevent non-urgent notifications during certain hours.
Group similar notifications together instead of sending individually.
Best Practice: Don't over-notify. Too many notifications can lead to notification fatigue, causing important messages to be missed. Focus on what's truly important.
